The idea of overcoming and discipline is what should move the student to try to find what he wants, before these new ways of learning are introduced; continuing education is the new way to continue learning indefinitely throughout life.
There are platforms that keep you updated, are according to your interests, have online programs and have the advantage that you decide what time to learn.
Paulette Delgado, educational trends specialist at the Institute’s Observatory for the Future of Education, explains that online learning falls into two categories: synchronous and asynchronous learning.
Delgado says the former refers to an education in which students have the opportunity to learn and interact in the moment (or “live”) with their teacher and classmates. More specifically, synchronous is a type of group learning since everyone learns at the same time.
Similarly, asynchronous learning is one that can take place live or offline through videos, materials or educational resources previously provided by the teacher, i.e. the class learns the same thing but each student at their own pace.
CHALLENGES OF THIS MODE
The responsibilities of the learners when opting for these modes are the same, however, it should be noted that in the asynchronous model they must be self-taught and have the discipline to meet the challenges.
For example, for a person who procrastinates, it is important to be aware of their habits in order not to fall behind, evaluate their distractions to start working on them. This way, the best times to study the material should be established.
Isolation is the biggest obstacle for online students. For those who enjoy learning alongside their peers or social environment, this learning may take some time to get used to.
Also, asynchronous programs have tools to communicate with teachers, however, you don’t always get an immediate response.
EFFECTIVENESS?
This new flexibility offers students new opportunities that were previously unavailable due to time constraints.
When the student has greater flexibility, the opportunities and consequently the degree of success in any field increases.
With this in mind, you should ask yourself a few questions: which model fits my needs? Am I an independent, motivated person and do I like individual work? This will determine which type of education goes according to your conditions.
Finally, we recommend some platforms with certified courses, where you can register for free and choose from the diversity of topics to study:
