Continental Announces Plans to Cut Several Thousand Jobs in Cost-Cutting Effort

German tire and auto parts maker Continental announced on Monday that it will cut several thousand jobs to cut costs at a time when the industry has been hit by significant difficulties.

The company states that it has not yet decided on the exact number of jobs to be eliminated, but it could be several thousand.

This plan is related to the plan to reduce expenses by 400 million euros per year.

The German business magazine “Manager Magazin” previously reported that “Continental” plans to eliminate 5,500 jobs worldwide, including 1,000 in Germany.

“Continental” currently employs approximately 200,000 people worldwide.

German car component manufacturers have faced problems caused by the increasingly rapid transition of the automotive industry to electric mobility.
