Contigo y Tu Salud Fair: Free Health Services and Resources for the Community

The Contigo y Tu Salud Fair offers free blood pressure and glucose tests to the community, support in mental health consultations, and other services. The event, organized by Univision 41 New York, will take place at the Hostos Community College This Saturday, October 7, from 10 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon.

The Contigo y Tu Salud Fair will include expert-led health forums on topics such as diabetes management, healthy eating, cancer awareness and mental health.

Medical care is essential

“Our mission is to provide Hispanics with the means to access information and resources to improve their lives, and health care is a key pillar for our community,” stated Roberto Yañez, northeast regional manager, president and general manager of Univision 41 Nueva York.

“The Contigo y Tu Salud Fair is an excellent opportunity to serve our community and contribute to its well-being,” added Yañez.

“We are trying to help our entire community to receive preventive medicine. Educate them to take care of themselves, so they know the importance of their weight and how to eat healthily,” explained pediatrician Denise Núñez.

“Unfortunately our culture is more reactive than preventive. We have to learn to prevent things from happening to us. We must go to our doctor annually to check our health, and this fair helps with that,” added Dr. Núñez.

The fair will be hosted by Patricia Fuenmayor, with special guest Celines Toribio.
