A shocking event occurred in a Beauty contest held in Michoacan, Mexico. A contestant was electrocuted while performing on stage.
The contestant’s name was Andrea Granados Victor who took part in the Miss Sahuayo 2022 pageant. At the time of the incident, Andrea, who was wearing a national costume with colorful feathers, was taking the stage to appear.
From the circulating video, the 22-year-old contestant appears to be holding a microphone to introduce himself and greet the audience. Unfortunate, when his hand just touched the loudspeaker, suddenly there was an electric voltage flowing throughout his body.
The electric current made Andrea’s body contract. In that precarious condition, he tried to take the microphone out of his hand, until he finally fell.
“He’s electrocuted, he’s electrocuted!” the MC of the event shouted in the footage circulating on Twitter.
Finally Andrea managed to remove the microphone while the body was still seated. A number of crew members immediately came to see the situation.
A fellow contestant who was an eyewitness described the incident as happening during a live broadcast. Fortunately Andrea was not seriously injured.

“We were live broadcasting when he was electrocuted by a strong electric current. Miss Andrea was electrocuted by the microphone. The committee treated him,” said another contestant, as quoted by the New York Post.
The race was temporarily suspended while the medical team examined Andrea’s condition. He wasn’t seriously injured, just a small burn on the hand holding the microphone. After that incident, Andrea returned to the stage to finish her performance.
“I came back (after) the refueling – literally, hahaha,” joked Andrea, as he was applauded by the audience.
“Luckily everything is fine. I want to inform you that after undergoing several medical visits my condition is fine. Thank God there are no serious burns,” he continued.

Andrea immediately received the support of one of the show’s commentators. She shouted, “It’s called dedication! A determination! Well done Andrea, you are a champion. You are a knight like the people of Sahuayo.”
Unfortunately Andrea failed to become the 2022 Miss Sahuayo champion. But she got the title of “Miss Sympathy” due to the accident she had.
