Contemporary witness talk in the Lüneburg Museum – Lüneburg Aktuell

“Lüneburg Originals – Landmarks and Memories with Hajo Boldt and Karl-Eckhard Gieseking” on Sunday, September 8, 2024, 3:00 p.m.

For the Open Monument Day, the Lüneburg Museum is bringing two Lüneburg originals onto the stage: Hajo Boldt and Karl-Eckhard Gieseking will be exchanging ideas about landmarks and memories. The two contemporary witnesses have intensively observed, photographed and documented events in Lüneburg for decades.

Hajo Boldt worked for many years as a photographer for the Landeszeitung and a cameraman for NDR. Due to his extensive collection of historical photographs and his dedicated photography, he is considered Lüneburg’s city chronicler.

Karl-Eckhard Gieseking is a Lüneburg native and known as an expert in the local brewery and photography history. He has been involved in the Lüneburg Old Town Working Group since 1974 and worked as a police photographer for many years. He also has a considerable collection of Lüneburg photographs and objects.

Museum director Prof. Dr. Heike Düselder and Antje Hubert interview the two contemporary witnesses and invite you to an exciting conversation about Lüneburg stories and anecdotes. The conversation with the contemporary witnesses takes place at 3 p.m. in the foyer of the museum at Willy-Brandt-Straße 1. Participation is free of charge, and the exhibition can also be visited free of charge on Open Monument Day.
