Unsurprisingly, with confinement, we all spend more time on our connected screens to chat with loved ones, to play or for telework. Many of us have downloaded new applications. Platforms Statista and PrioriData analyzed data from the most popular apps on theApp store (Apple) and Google Play (Android) between March 16 and 22, during the first week of confinement in France, and established a ranking (media below).
Video conferencing applications are widely found on Apple: Discord, Zoom Cloud Meetings and House party come out on top. In the rest of the ranking, we find Plato, an application on which you can get together with friends to play games: table football, billiards, mini-golf or even a kind of online Uno. Messaging WhatsApp has been in great demand by the French: more than 83,000 downloads. The social network Tik Tok has also been very popular because you can have fun watching fun videos from around the world, and even publish your own original videos. The software Skype closes the ranking with 60,000 downloads.
Regarding Android, the trend is somewhat different, since it is WhatsApp tops the charts with more than 380,000 downloads, followed by Discord. The games have also generated a lot of user interest, as has the app Info Alerts which, as its name suggests, broadcasts all the news live and in real time.
With the #confinement, a large part of the professional activities and social life of the French is now happening online. here are the #applications / Android mobile devices most downloaded last week with data @prioridata :
