Last year the supermarkets promised to improve, but little has come of it, says the Bond. Test shoppers from the Consumers’ Association visited supermarket chains of Albert Heijn, Aldi, Coop, Jumbo, Lidl, Plus and Spar. Three branches of each chain were visited.
Aldi completely flawless
There, the shelf prices of 25 products were noted and compared with the price on the receipt. Only 1 receipt, at an Aldi branch, was completely flawless.
In 2020, the Consumers’ Association conducted a comparable sample. Then 3 of the 28 receipts were error-free.

Number of errors
The number of errors has also increased. In 2020, the price was incorrect for 1 in 8 products. Now 1 in 7 products go wrong.
Things often went wrong with coffee, beer and wine. Those items were on sale according to the price tag, but not according to the cash register. As a result, the coffee at Plus cost €4.19 more at the checkout than the price tag indicated. And at AH, a 6-pack of non-alcoholic beer was € 2.19 more expensive than it was on the shelf.

AH and Jumbo the messiest
Albert Heijn and Jumbo are the most sloppy. At Albert Heijn, more than 1 in 4 products have a different price. At Jumbo more than 1 in 5.
