As part of the Summer 2024 Plan, the Consumer Ombudsman’s Office has made various channels available to Salvadorans so that they can report any abuse and unjustified price increases in products and services due to the summer season.
The president of the Consumer Ombudsman’s Office, Ricardo Salazar, expressed that, during this holiday period, Salvadoran families have a space to rest, but it is also high consumption and that is why they have implemented various strategies to take care of the population’s pockets.
“We have assisted more than 1,850 people, who have made their queries for different reasons, especially those related to breaches of contract and offer, not only, I reiterate, what happened with situations typical of the season, but also consumer problems. ”said the president of the Consumer Ombudsman.
It is important to highlight that these consultations cover a wide range of topics and problems related to consumption. Among the most recurring reasons are breaches of contract and offer by various companies and service providers.
In addition, Salazar highlighted the importance of collaboration between the institution and consumers to guarantee greater effectiveness in conflict resolution and prevention of situations that violate their rights.
“We already have more than 160 complaints against different suppliers and in which we are making an important contribution to something that is key to the right to consumption and that is, precisely, protecting the consumer,” he explained.
The official urged the population to report any irregularity or violation of their rights through the service channels established by the Ombudsman’s Office such as number 910 and WhatsApp 7844-1482.
