The president of the Consumer Ombudsman’s Office, Ricardo Salazar, said that since Friday, May 3, they began a nationwide surveillance operation for the celebration of Mother’s Day that includes the verification of promotions, as well as the advertising of goods. and services in the various establishments to protect the rights of consumers.
“For tomorrow (May 10) we have activated a plan, in which I must report that we have already carried out a little more than 250 verifications nationwide and we have found around 16 non-compliance in different areas,” said the president of the Consumer Ombudsman.
Furthermore, the official explained that in these inspections they have found cases of misleading advertising, lack of information on promotions and offers, as well as the presence of expired products.
Likewise, Salazar explained that the Ombudsman’s teams are constantly carrying out these price verifications and during festive periods such as Mother’s Day, the teams work with greater attention due to the increase in commerce, this to guarantee that Salvadorans receive the products and services as established by the Consumer Protection Law.
More than 150 people participate in this deployment, which has the sole purpose of ensuring the well-being of Salvadoran families during this celebration.
In the event of any irregularity, non-compliance with offers and promotions, or price abuses, the population can file the respective complaint by calling 910 and WhatsApp 7844-1482.
