The Consumer Council tested 10 electric pressure cookers and evaluated their electrical safety, performance and durability. The Consumer Council collected 10 models of electric pressure cookers, commonly known as “smart high-speed cookers”, with rated capacity ranging from 5 liters to 6 liters, rated power ranging from about 900 watts to 1,300 watts, and prices ranging from $799 to $3,088, and Test the cooking performance, body design and ease of use of various electric pressure cookers.

Whether the ingredients can be cooked effectively and taste is the most concerned effect of housewives. The Consumer Council has 12 types of electric pressure cookers to cook braised beef ribs, minced pork porridge with scallops, chicken soup with snail head and red bean paste in the traditional way. To detect the total cooking time, power consumption and food temperature after cooking of each sample, it was found that the performance of 10 samples was the most variable when cooking stewed beef ribs with mixed vegetables and red bean paste. The results showed that the cooking performance of all the samples was very variable. In terms of the overall performance of food quality, “Panasonic”, “Proluxury” and “Midea” only scored 3 points; “Sunpendo SPT”, “Panasonic” and “Midea” scored the lowest, only 2.5 points.

Power consumption, electrical safety tests and durability tests performed well overall
The overall power consumption of the 10 electric pressure cookers when cooking 4 dishes is quite low, all of them are less than 1,000 watt-hours, that is, no more than 1 kilowatt-hour of electricity, so all the samples scored 4 points or above.
In terms of electrical safety testing, referring to the international standards IEC 60335-1 and IEC 60335-2-15, the safety of the electric pressure cooker was tested, including protection against electric shock, temperature rise, structure, abnormal operation, grounding measures and insulation distance. All of the samples passed the six safety tests.
In the final durability test, the Consumer Council heats up to the highest temperature, then immediately takes it out and immerses it in ice water, cools down to 15°C to 20°C, and repeats 25 times to see if the electric pressure cooker is deformed. The results showed that all 10 samples passed the durability test without deformation.
