Consultation committee decides: public at sports matches will be banned again | Jupiler Pro League

Thanks to strict protocols, the Belgian professional clubs were allowed to allow a limited number of spectators into the stadiums in the past 5 matches, but that is now coming to a (temporary) end.

In order to stem the rising corona figures, the Consultation Committee has decided to no longer admit an audience to professional competitive sports. Amateur sports over the age of 18 can no longer take place for the time being.

The corona virus has struck a lot in Belgian professional football in recent weeks. Waasland-Beveren currently has 17 infected players and may not be able to play this weekend for the 2nd time in a row. In Mouscron, 12 people have been infected with the virus this week.

They also hold their heart at Club Brugge. There they may receive the results of the last test round today. Last week, 3 players tested positive. RWDM is in trouble in 1B, Westerlo previously had to postpone 3 games due to a corona outbreak in the players group.

At 9 am there will be a press conference where the Consultation Committee will provide more information on the new measures. You can do this follow live here with our colleagues from vrtnws.
