Raleigh.- The Consulate General of Mexico in Raleigh has announced the cancellation of the scheduled events of the Consulates on Wheels.
The entity said that visits from the week of September 30 to October 4 in Greenville, South Carolina, and Flat Rock, North Carolina will no longer take place.
The decision of the Mexican Consulate has been made due to the difficulties generated by the effects of Storm Helene, which has left several areas without electricity supply, in addition to the complications in the safe transportation of users to the planned locations.
The Consulate has asked the Mexican community residing in the western Carolinas to remain attentive to future announcements and updates regarding the rescheduling of these events.
The safety of users and consular staff is a priority, so the Consulate appreciates the community’s understanding in the face of these unforeseen circumstances.
More than 400 roads closed in NC by Helene
On the other hand, more than 400 roads in North Carolina remain closed due to severe weather conditions that have affected much of the state due to Storm Helene.
The Department of Transportation reported on Saturday, September 28, that all roads west of the National Highway should be considered impassable.
