Construction work on Laubeggstrasse — Media Center

An important school route leads from the district north of Laubeggstrasse to the Wyssloch school via Laubeggstrasse. Due to its location and topography (hilltop), the zebra crossing is relatively late for drivers heading towards Freudenbergerplatz. Visibility for pedestrians and especially children is also limited. In addition, Laubeggstrasse has to be crossed in one go because it does not have a central island.

To improve traffic safety, the existing zebra crossing will be slightly offset and positioned perpendicular to the edge of the sidewalk. At the same time, a central island will be created that will allow the road to be crossed in two stages.

7-week construction work

Work to implement the measures will begin on September 16, 2024 and is expected to last until November 1, 2024. Due to the construction work, the entrance to Bürglenstrasse (north and south) is closed to private motorized traffic. Access to Bürglenstrasse is via Gantrischstrasse (north / south).

A temporary zebra crossing will be set up: pedestrians will be able to cross Laubeggstrasse from Bürglenstrasse; only in the final construction phase will they have to take a detour via Gantrischstrasse.
