An executive of the construction union in Gangwon Province is in critical condition after attempting to set himself on fire in front of the court ahead of the interrogation of the suspect before arrest.

Today (1st) at around 9:35 am, in front of the Gangneung Branch of the Chuncheon District Court in Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do, Mr. A, a 50-year-old executive of the Gangwon Construction Branch of the Construction Workers’ Union, tried to set himself on fire by spraying an inflammable substance on his body.

Mr. A, who suffered burns all over his body, was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but was known to be unconscious.
