There will soon be a new leisure highlight in Bad Hersfeld: construction of the battle kart hall has started next to the Timberjacks BBQ restaurant.
Bad Hersfeld – Construction of the “Battle Kart” building next to the new Timberjacks BBQ restaurant has begun in Bad Hersfeld.
As the VR-Bankverein Bad Hersfeld-Rotenburg reports, four heavy-duty trains have now rolled into the site of the former Ford car dealership headquarters and are bringing the huge prefabricated elements for the 2,300 square meter multifunctional hall. According to the information, the transformer for the hall has also been delivered and the construction of the foundations is now beginning.
“Battle Kart will be another highlight and attraction in the region alongside Timberjacks and the Bad Hersfeld district,” says VR Bankverein board member Hartmut Apel. VR-Bankverein eG and the operator Battle-Kart are equally satisfied with the collaboration and look forward to enriching the Bad Hersfeld region with this new attraction.

This gaming experience in the field of karting is expected to attract many visitors to the festival city in the coming years. “We are convinced that this will sustainably increase the attractiveness of Bad Hersfeld,” said the VR Bankverein board members.
The main tenant is Battle-Kart and therefore managing director Michael Kolbinger. The concept is quickly explained: In real e-karts you drive through virtual worlds without physical obstacles, while a large number of projectors project various routes and games onto the hall floor and walls in a 360˚ all-round projection. This makes Battle Kart an eventful community attraction for people of all ages – whether with friends and family for a birthday or with colleagues at the next company event. The company just needs an empty hall for its entertainment games. For Bad Hersfeld this specifically means around 32 projectors, 2000 square meters of playing area and 18 karts.
“In addition to a strong partner like VR-Bankverein eG, the location was particularly interesting,” explains Michael Kolbinger. The area is incredibly close to the city center and not in the outskirts like many other cities where BattleKart already exists.
Since opening its first center in Bispingen in 2020, Battle-Kart has continued to develop and expand. There are now 35 locations throughout Europe (six of them in Germany), Saudi Arabia and Australia. “The fact that we are right on the main road here in Bad Hersfeld and have motorways and federal roads in the immediate vicinity are excellent conditions,” says Michael Kolbinger.
