Construction of Drainage Channel on Jalan Otista: Caution for Samarinda Residents

With the construction of a drainage channel on Jalan Otista, Samarinda residents are asked to be careful, because there is a narrowing of the road in that area.

Kaltim.akurasi.id, Samarinda – Residents of the Edge City who want to go through Jalan Otto Iskandardinata (Otista), Sungai Dama, will find a yellow warning sign that says caution. The reason is, along the road is being carried out the construction of drainage. As a result, there is a slight narrowing of roads in the area.

Anticipating traffic jams, the Samarinda Transportation Agency is also coordinating with the authorized contractor supervisor in managing the roads around the drainage works.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Road Traffic Division (LLAJ) of the Samarinda Transportation Service, Didi Zulyani.

“The contractor has prepared the community to arrange the road, if needed from the transportation agency, we will go down,” he said when met in his office, Samarinda Transportation Agency Office, Wednesday (5/7/2023).

Otista Street was not closed, given the large number of people using the route. As a result, this has resulted in a slight narrowing of the roadway during project work.

Finally, Didi explained that until now, his party had not received any obstacles during the drainage work process.

Until now, for both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles that pass through the Dama-Mount Manggah River and vice versa, they can still go through this road. “They repair the work at night, not during the day. However, Samarinda residents also have to be careful,” he concluded.
