During the night, from Sunday to Monday, on the Kamieńsk-Radomsko section, an almost three-kilometer section of the new – eastern carriageway of the A1 motorway was handed over for use: from the intersection with the national road No. 42 to Stobiecka Szlachecki.

This was announced by Maciej Zalewski from the Łódź branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways. He stressed that the traffic organization would not change. The two-plus one system will continue to apply, i.e. two lanes will lead to Katowice and one to Łódź.

Zalewski stressed that the next sections of the new A1 roadway between Kamieńsk and Radom will be delivered soon. “According to the contractor’s declarations, another section of the new road, this time nearly five kilometers long, will be delivered within the next month. The remaining part, that is nearly 11 kilometers, in November. This will mean that the entire section of + C + Kamieńsk-Radomsko will be We will drive 16.7 km on the new road this fall “- he informed.

He added that the contractor is currently focusing on the construction of a special structure under the road, in a place with unsupportable soil.

The construction of the A1, which is being implemented in the footsteps of the current road no. 1, has been divided into five parts, four of which with a total length of 64 kilometers run through the province. Łódź Province.

Fragment A (from Tuszyn to the Piotrków Trybunalski junction – 15.9 km) for PLN 478.9 million gross is being carried out by a consortium of Budimex-Strabag companies. The same companies are building section C (from the Kamieńsk junction to the Radomsko junction – 16.7 km) for PLN 573.1 million gross, and section D (from Radomsko to the border with the Silesian Voivodeship – 7 km) for PLN 338.25 million gross PUT Intercor company. These sections of the route, in accordance with the contracts concluded, are to be completed in 2022. A year later, section B is to be built between Piotrków Trybunalski and Kamieńskie (24.2 km), which will be completed by Mirbud SA for PLN 857 million gross.

A1 is the only Polish motorway with a longitudinal course, crossing the entire territory of the country. At the same time, it is part of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) and the priority project “Gdańsk-Brno / Bratislava-Vienna”. After the construction is completed, the route will form the main communication route connecting the Tri-City with the Czech Republic in Gorzyczki, leading through the vicinity of Toruń, Łódź and Katowice. It is also to facilitate access to Polish ports for transports from the Czech Republic, Slovakia or Hungary, and as a result ensure the development of the domestic economy.
