PepsiCo – one of the world’s largest producers and sellers of beverages and snacks, is building a large factory in Środa Śląska near Wrocław. The plant with an area of seven football fields is to produce Frito Lay chips. The investment is worth over a billion zlotys. Budimex, which is building the factory, has already completed the earthworks and foundation works. A steel structure for the plant was also erected. The plant will be completed in 2023, but new jobs will be created at the plant this year.
The plant is being built several kilometers from Wrocław, in the village of Święte in the Środa Śląska commune, right next to the road 94 Wrocław-Środa Śląska. The factory of the American giant will produce potato and corn snacks from farmers’ supplies. PepsiCo works directly with 80 farms from all over Poland, obtaining over 230,000 farms from them annually. tons of potatoes. It is estimated that due to the launch of the new plant, this number will increase by approx. 60 thousand. tonnes per year until 2023, and the number of cooperating farms will increase to over 100.

The complex with internal installations, including electromechanical works as well as land development and technical infrastructure is being implemented by Budimex. At the moment, the assembly of the steel structure of the new snack plant is coming to an end. Ground and foundation works were also completed. The construction carried out by Budimex has started on August 1 last year.
