Construction cost index: Brussels is significantly cheaper than London, Geneva and Oslo

The most expensive cities in the world for builders are London, Geneva and Oslo. Brussels, on the other hand, is not among the TOP 10 in terms of construction costs: the Belgian capital is in 45th place in the ranking. The five cheapest cities, on the other hand, are in Asia. These are the results of the annual Arcadis Construction Cost Index (ICC), for which the international planning and consulting company analyzed the construction costs of 100 major cities in the world.

Despite a slight weakening of the positive trend in the pandemic year 2021, the Belgian construction sector grew by around 5.2%, in line with the increase in other European countries.
