Advanced power selected Bechtel, an engineering and construction company, to build a 140 MWdc Cutlass solar project in Ford Bend County, Texas. The solar PV installation will be built on a 700-acre site and will employ more than 200 people at its peak. The solar farm is expected to come into commercial service in 2022. Cutlass Solar is the fourth project and the first renewable energy facility that Bechtel will supply for Advanced Power. The team is currently building the South Field Power Plant in Ohio and previously completed the Cricket Valley Energy Center and Carroll County Power Plant using natural gas, a low-carbon energy source to help the transition away from coal.
