Rodrigo Logan is a recurring character on national television. The lawyer has appeared repeatedly as a guest and a panelist on different channels, becoming a figure of certain public recognition. After several of these appearances, Logan ran to form the Constituent Convention, being elected as an independent (although in 2016 he went to the election of councilor in Recoleta by RN).
But what was not known is that, during that candidacy to draft the Constitution, Logan was investigated and accused by the Prosecutor’s Office for the falsification of an employment contract. The lawyer was formalized for that crime and today he will hold a new hearing. This time, to find an alternative way out with the counterpart who denounces him. INTERFERENCIA accessed the investigative folder of this case and reproduces the most relevant facts below.
Report 1013/2016 of the Economic Crimes Investigation Brigade of the Investigative Police is conclusive. By order of the Prosecutor’s Office, PDI experts analyzed two identical contracts, except for details. One was 4 sheets, while the other was 5. One had a clause that required to pay a millionaire compensation, the other did not. One corresponded to the agreement for the provision of the building administrator service between the lawyer Rodrigo Logan, and the Alto Mapocho Community. The other was simply false.
In conclusion, the report indicates that it is allowed to establish the falsification of a signature, that of the president of the Alto Mapocho Community, being a contract that never had the approval of the administration of the building located in downtown Santiago.

The false document was presented by Rodrigo Logan before the 12th Civil Court of Santiago, when he complained against the Alto Mapocho Community for allegedly breaching a clause contained in the contract expertized by the PDI, which did not exist in the original contract. This determined the payment of compensation equivalent to “sixty canons of monthly fees”, which in practice meant the delivery of $ 30,470,340 to the lawyer member of the Constitutional Convention.
As can be read in the ruling, the “effectiveness of the fact that the contract provided by the plaintiff is false” was established as substantial, pertinent and controversial facts.
Five years passed from Logan’s lawsuit against the community until the case was closed. In a ruling issued by Judge María Sofía Gutiérrez, the complaint with costs to the convention lawyer was rejected because the prescribed complaint was found. In addition, as can be read in the ruling, the “effectiveness of the fact that the contract provided by the plaintiff is false” was established as substantial, pertinent and controversial facts, being “facts and circumstances that would constitute the falsity of said instrument”. Logan’s unsuccessful complaint would be answered through the courts, except this time in criminal matters.
The criminal edge
Before the 7th Guarantee Court of Santiago, the Alto Mapocho Building Community In January 2016, it denounced “all those who are responsible” for the crimes of falsification and malicious use of private instruments.
On September 14, 2020, Rodrigo Logan was formalized for those crimes, decreeing the precautionary measure of national roots. The measure remains in force, but could end today depending on the hearing to be held this morning to find an alternative solution to the complaint.
