Constantin Film has announced the establishment of its own documentation unit. The new label “Constantin Documentation” is located at Constantin Entertainment as an independent unit, the team consists of Jan Klophaus (Executive Producer), Julia Leeb (Director / Journalist / Author), Friederike Cromme (Producer), Johannes Preuss (awarded with the Student Academy Award), Annika Blendl (director) and Grimme Prize winner Michael Gantenberg.
This makes Constantin Film the next production company to focus on documentaries. Most recently, the UFA and Banijay had already founded corresponding units, Bavaria Film took over the story house documentary company completely. The trend in the industry towards documentary formats can therefore be clearly seen.

Courageous documentary filmmakers and directors like Julia Leeb, Johannes Preuss and Annika Blendl and fiction authors like Grimme Prize winner Michael Gantenberg, who stand for innovative, exciting storytelling, will with us new and exciting impulses in the genre setting. “
Constantin Documentation’s projects include the two Sky series “Lawyers of Evil – Between Law and Conscience” and “July 22nd – The Shots of Munich”. But Constantin has also produced documentaries in the past. The documentary “BILD.Macht.Deutschland?” produced by Constantin. There are also productions such as “The Secret Life of Trees” with Peter Wohlleben or the ARD documentary “Feinde – Recht oder Gerechtigkeit”.
