Prostate Cancer Risk Factors
1- age
Age is a factor that controls the chances of developing prostate cancer, as men under the age of 40 rarely develop it, but the risk of developing it increases after age 50.
At the age of 65 and over, 6 out of 10 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer.
2- family history
Prostate cancer is included in the list of hereditary diseases, as the chances of exposure to it are more than double in men who belong to families, in which one or more first degree members, such as a father or brother, are been diagnosed before.

3- Genetic changes
There is a possibility that inherited mutations in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes, which cause breast and ovarian cancer in women, increase the risk of prostate cancer in men.
Prostate cancer caused by the genetic defect is linked to hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer, also known as Lynch syndrome.
4- Diet rich in calcium
Despite the importance of calcium for the health of the body, but some studies have shown that there is a relationship between eating more foods rich in it or its food supplements and a higher risk of prostate cancer.
Therefore, natural sources of calcium, such as dairy products, should be consumed in moderation, with the need to consult a doctor before taking your supplement tablets, to determine the appropriate dose.

5- Obese
Prostate cancer is a complication caused by being overweight. In some studies, researchers have found that obese men are more likely to develop and die from it.
Therefore, it is necessary to avoid that the weight increases and, in case of obesity, it is necessary to follow a low-calorie diet and regular exercise, to reduce the body mass index.
7- Smoking
Some research has linked smoking to an increased risk of death from prostate cancer, however, this finding still needs further study to confirm its validity.

7- Prostatitis
Some studies have revealed that prostatitis can develop into cancer if left untreated, while studies have not found a link between the two diseases.
8- Sexually transmitted diseases
Some sexually transmitted diseases, such as gonorrhea and chlamydia, can increase the risk of prostate cancer because they can lead to prostatitis.
9- Vasectomy
Some studies have found that men who have undergone a vasectomy for birth control have a slightly higher risk of prostate cancer.
In other studies, the researchers did not report any relationship between prostate cancer and vasectomy.
