Every year, thousands of patients live again thanks to organ transplants “but, to meet the needs of patients, it is essential to convince new donors to increase the chances of finding a compatible donor. On average, you have to wait eight years for a bone marrow donation,” he continues.
Anyone can volunteer for this act, which can be done during their lifetime.
For medical reasons, Adot 28 encourages young people and particularly men, between 18 and 35, whose profiles are the most sought after, to register. “If you are compatible with a patient, your bone marrow cells are then taken from the blood of a vein or by puncture in the bones of the pelvis under general anesthesia. »
A France Adot 28 bike tour is planned for the end of September in Eure-et-Loir to raise awareness of organ donation.
