The balance sheet of Conserve Italia, the consortium that brings together 36 cooperatives and owns the Valfrutta, Cirio, Yoga, Derby Blue and Jolly Colombani brands, closes at 1.2 billion euros. Compared to the 2022-2023 financial year, this is a growth of 5%. The profit is 12.3 million euros. Sales increased both in value and volume on the domestic large-scale retail market as well as on the Horeca and foodservice channels. Foreign sales are also increasing, driven in particular by the Cirio brand, which represents 47% of the group’s exports.

In the last year Conserve Italia transformed 518,284 tonnes of fruit, tomatoes, legumes and cereals grown on almost 14 thousand hectares in Italy. «To the farmer members – recalled the president, Maurizio Gardini, reconfirmed for another three years – in the last financial year we provided over 100 million euros in settlements for the contributed production, fundamental resources for the maintenance of thousands of agricultural companies. Resources that contribute to redistributing wealth in the territories. We have also implemented rewards in tomatoes by encouraging ethical certifications of agricultural companies, we have increased the prices of all crops and during the summer of 2024 we have committed to withdrawing more fruit than expected to avoid an excess of supply in the fresh market ».

The three-year investment plan of 86.6 million euros, currently underway, has already led to the installation in all factories of new, more efficient machinery in terms of energy consumption and the use of renewables. «In the 2024-2025 financial year – explained the general director, Pier Paolo Rosetti – we will focus on our main plant, that of Pomposa in the lower Ferrara area, where a new tomato concentrator was recently installed and a second will be implemented, just as the automated warehouse will be expanded.”
