Consensys Launches Fuzzing Tool to Identify Vulnerabilities in Ethereum Smart Contracts

The developers of Diligence, a division of Consensys, introduced the Fuzzing tool. It allows you to identify vulnerabilities in Ethereum smart contracts without deploying additional infrastructure. This is reported The Block.

The new solution uses a testing technique called fuzzing. It consists in passing incorrect, unexpected or random data to the application in order to detect bugs, crashes, freezes and other failures.

The tool uses an advanced algorithm – greybox fuzzing, which is “sharpened” for smart contracts. This approach focuses on systems as a whole, rather than individual functions, and, according to Consensys experts, is more effective than other similar solutions.

According to them, paired with another open source tool – Scribble Developers can simplify the security testing process and improve the reliability of deployed applications on the Ethereum mainnet.

Recall that in July the crypto industry lost $303 million as a result of exploits and hacker attacks.
