Conor McGregor interested in buying European football clubs. Besides Manchester United, fighter UFC it also wants to buy other teams.
McGregor recently revealed that he is interested in buying shares in football clubs in Europe. The former UFC lightweight champion is aiming for Manchester United.
Recently, McGregor admitted that he is eyeing another club. That team is Celtic FC, giant Scottish League.
Reported by the Daily Record, Conor McGregor admitted that he had held talks with Dermot Desmond, the majority shareholder of Celtic. The Notorious offers to buy the shares.
However, McGregor accepted refusal. Desmond is adamant that he doesn’t want to sell his shares.
On Twitter, McGregor later confirmed this. He admitted that he was interested in buying MU or Celtic, because he really wanted to build a football team.
“To be honest, there is talk about Celtic. To acquire shares from Dermot Desmond,” he said when answering questions from fans.
“I’m definitely interested in getting a sports team at some stage! Both Celtic and Man United are teams I like. But I’m open to it. I feel I can do big things for the club,” he said.
McGregor and Celtic were once close, when he screamed during his live tour in 2017. McGregor also has a good relationship with former Celtic player who has now moved to Arsenal, Kieran Tierney.
