At the heart of the Connecting Smart Communities action area is the development of a citizen appin which a wide range of new and existing offers for the region are digitally brought together. The app offers the possibility of accessing the content at any time and from any location. When developing the concrete solutions, orientation towards people’s needs is an essential task.
Die Challenge consists in bringing together the existing analogue and partly digital offerings within the collective municipality, the city of Linz and the local communities. To date, these offerings have existed independently of one another and are only occasionally linked to one another. Another challenge is connecting the people in the region with one another and with their community. The focus is particularly on strengthening the community between the individual local communities and the city of Linz. For topographical reasons, the individual communities are separated from one another both locally and socially due to the division of the region into mountain ranges and the Rhine Valley.
The measure has the Goalto create new structures to strengthen the identification of the people in the Linz am Rhein collective municipality with their living space as a common region and to promote cohesion among people. This will be achieved by bundling and digitizing offers using an app. The functions planned for the app include: digital room booking, a common events calendar for the entire region, a news feed and a defect reporting system.
