“Connecting iPhones to Windows 11: Microsoft’s Phone Link Integration”

As we reported at the beginning of March, after many years of existence, Microsoft has resolved Connection with the phone decided to connect iPhones to Windows computers in addition to Android mobiles. He distributed the function in a controlled manner from the beginning of May and after some two weeks the company announced that the distribution was over.

This means that the distribution of the new version of the application is no longer artificially delayed. The connection with the phone (in the original Phone Link) should offer the possibility to view the contents of the smartphone with iOS in every installation of Windows 11. At least if the Store has already updated the app for you, or if you have done so manually.

Compared to Android integration, it’s a poor relative. You can monitor notifications, read and write text messages or make phone calls. The iOS version doesn’t even know group texts, it doesn’t support image and video sharing. In addition, the connection with Android offers image management and screen mirroring, which, however, only works on selected mobile phones from the South Korean Samsung. As an alternative, Microsoft allows tracking of iCloud image viewing in Photos.

The connection with the phone already in Windows 11 is tempting to support iPhones

According to the twitter account @Windows integration with iPhones should also be available in Windows 10, but I personally do not see the relevant preset yet. Bluetooth must be turned on for the function to work. iPads are not supported. You must have at least iOS 14 on your mobile phone.
