In an environment like the current one in which the changes caused by the disruptions of recent yearssuch as Brexit or the Covid-19 pandemic, have been transferred to the logistics chains, which are more complex and highly variable, Connect Europe is the solution developed by XPO for adapt to this new scenariosimplifying the management of shipments to 25 European countries, from individual pallets to full loads.
A solution that has its precedent on the platform ‘Real Time Visibility’ launched in 2023 and developed for Connecting the fleet of carrierswith the aim of channelling the information that is generated in real time, with total transparency at both the operational and customer level.
According to Emmanuel Arnaud, Director of Operations for XPO in Europe, this is a revolution that allows us to adapt to changing requirements to manage the company’s service capacity under a single umbrella, combining our European network, from Morocco to the Baltic States and up to Hungary. And all this within the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and operational excellence in logistics.
XPO relies on Repsol to offer services using renewable fuels, in order to reduce emissions from its transport operations in Spain.
The Connect Europe solution concentrates the international transport needs of companies, in terms of speed, traceability and sustainability, Simplifying tracking needs of shipments in a single point of contact, reducing intermediaries and the administrative and operational complexities associated with international transport. The aim is to make international freight shipments more accessible to all types and sizes of companies operating in an increasingly complex environment, such as the European one.
A consistent service thanks to optimized processes and a network which delivers more than 60,000 pallets daily, comprising 8 European hubs and more than 150 transport and distribution centres throughout Europe and a fleet of more than 8,000 trucks and 12,000 trailers.

Sustainability as a pillar for Connect Europe
The sustainabilitya key pillar of XPO’s strategy, is set to be a fundamental pillar for Connect Europe. In this context, the company offers customers the opportunity to reduce your carbon footprint using alternative fuels such as HVO, of which a total of 10 million litres have been supplied to the fleet, and also biogas and electricity, which are part of the decarbonisation initiative launched in 2023 Low Emissions Sustainable Solution (LESS).
In this regard, customers will have their own sustainability calculatorto calculate the costs of its operations from an environmental point of view. An order has also been placed for 100 electric trucks for distribution, which will initially be destined for the French market, which together with 105 electric tractor units, will contribute to achieving a balance between sustainability and operating costs.
As for the Spanish marketwith a turnover of 500 million euros in 2023, Carlos Rivero, Director of Business Development and Marketing of XPO Logistics for Southern Europe and Morocco, has stressed that with 35% of international operations, thanks to the new service, a double-digit growth in this segment in the coming years in Spain.
