Conmebol committed a gaffe on the day of Corinthians’ debut in the Libertadores, this Thursday. The confederation published a video of the last goal scored by the club in the competition and called Timão “El Peixe”, confusing it with the nickname given to Santos.
“Fish”, as the rival from Santos is known, was the term used by the organization when remembering Adson’s goal against Always Ready in a post on Twitter, still in the tie at home for the group stage of the competition. The last goal scored by Corinthians in the competition, even with advancement to the quarterfinals.
After the negative repercussion from Fiel, who complained about the confusion made by the official profile of Conmebol, the post was deleted and redone – check out the fan comments and the redone post below.
Timão faces Liverpool, from Uruguay, this Thursday, at 19h. The duel is worth first place for Corinthians in case of victory by more than one goal difference, as Argentinos Juniors debuted at home by beating Independiente del Valle in the other Group E clash.

They study only those who are on the rise, otherwise they wouldn’t have confused us with Santos
