Congress | Mirtha Vásquez hopes that the Ethics Commission will see the José Luna case

The vice president of the Ethics Commission, Mirtha Vasquez, said to hope that this Friday said working group see the reconsideration you raised regarding the vote that decided not to investigate the Congressman José Luna Morales.

As explained to the Andean Agency, for Friday a new ordinary session is planned with the presence of the head of the commission, César Gonzales, which did not happen in the last meeting.

“We hope that by that date the reconsideration will be seen, reviewed and, with sound judgment, admitted to redo the vote, which presented clear problems,” said the parliamentarian.

Vásquez maintained that one of them was the vote of the legislator of We can Peru, Aron Espinoza, even though he was not formally incorporated into the Ethics Commission.

“We have to be as transparent as possible to avoid that the commission is perceived as a space where it is shielded. Therefore, it will be important that the decision we make is made reflecting in the proper way”added the parliamentarian.

He stressed, in this sense, that it is not unethical to have raised the reconsideration, since it is stipulated in the Regulations of Congress, and stated that opening an investigation does not necessarily mean attributing guilt to someone.

“We have to investigate, and the investigation will determine,” he said.

Luna Morales was denounced for not complying with the deposit of the money discounted to his workers for contributions to the Social Security Normalization Office (ONP) and the Pension Fund Administrator (AFP).

The Parliamentary Ethics Commission voted against investigating the case, despite the legislative group’s technical report recommending moving to the investigation stage.
