Hyderabad: Congress is gearing up for a big political move in its old stronghold of Andhra Pradesh. YSR Telangana Party President Y.S. Congress is making moves to bring Sharmila to the party. This move is led by Priyanka Gandhi. There are reports that Sharmila has been offered the party leadership position in Andhra Pradesh, which is facing a leadership crisis.

Sharmila is currently working in Telangana. Days ago, Sharmila had announced that she was ready to negotiate with anyone to oust Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhara Rao from power. It was after this that the Congress leadership contacted Sharmila. Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Congress leader Y.S. YS is the daughter of Rajasekhara Reddy and sister of current Andhra Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Sharmila.

The discussions took place in the last 10 days after the Karnataka election results. It is reported that the Congress has advanced the Rajya Sabha seat and the leadership of the party in Andhra Pradesh to Sharmila. But they have not given a positive response to it.

Sharmila says that her first target is Telangana. Her party leaders also informed that Sharmila is not interested in entering Andhra now. However, it is indicated that the move of the Congress is with a long-term goal. By 2029, the party is all set to regain its former glory in Andhra using Sharmila. Telugu media reports that Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar is working as an intermediary for the high command to bring Sharmila to the party.

Congress had earlier formed an alliance with Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP in Andhra Pradesh but it ended with a heavy electoral defeat. The Congress believes that the TDP cannot make a comeback. It is in this situation that the Congress is trying to bring Sharmila to overthrow Jagan. The Congress also sees Jagan and Sharmila as being at loggerheads.

The Congress believes that Sharmila is the best option to topple Jagan Mohan Reddy in the current situation in Andhra Pradesh. The party is also facing a major leadership crisis in the state. Sharmila has the shield and experience of leading the party when Jagan Mohan Reddy was in jail.
