Congress Announces Caste Census Plan for Madhya Pradesh: Mallikarjun Kharge

Bhopal: Congress has announced that it will conduct a caste census if it comes to power in Madhya Pradesh. This was announced by Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge while addressing a rally in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, which is gearing up for assembly elections. Kharge also made announcements like cooking gas at Rs 500 for all and Rs 1500 per month for women in their bank accounts. The Congress’s move in Madhya Pradesh also follows the popular announcements that helped it regain power in Karnataka.

“I assure that if the Congress comes to power, the farmers will be given debt relief. Cooking gas will be provided to all at Rs.500. 1500 per month will be given to all women in their account. The old pension scheme for government employees will be brought back. Up to 100 units of electricity will be free. A caste census will be conducted in the state. Six people from backward classes have been included in the Congress Working Committee announced the other day.

Some people are trying to rewrite the constitution itself. But that won’t happen. “All 140 crore people of the country are of the opinion of protecting the constitution,” said Kharge.

Kharge criticized the BJP for remembering the 14th century poet and Dalit social reformer Sant Ravidas only during elections. Modi has been the Prime Minister for the last nine years. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also ruled Madhya Pradesh for 18 years. But Kharge pointed out that if both of them want to remember Ravidas, there should be an election.
