Tegucigalpa, Honduras (07.12.2023).– Within the framework of the “Alliance for Education and the Progresa con Educación project, the Ministry of Education, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), RTI International and the Municipal Mayor’s Office of Comayagua, inaugurated the Education Center. Digital Training Hub Edutech.
This Digital Training center located in Comayagua, will offer free courses so that children and young people can strengthen their skills so that they can have greater advantages and opportunities in their personal and professional lives.
It is expected that, as part of the alliances between the Ministry of Education, USAID and other cooperators, the first five Edutech Hubs Digital Training Centers will be inaugurated in Comayagua, Tegucigalpa, Comayagüela, Lepaera and Danlí.
Which will offer the following free courses:
Educational Leveling (Reading and Writing), Programming, Humanizing Robotics, Soft Skills, Digital Literacy and Entrepreneurship, this with the objective of benefiting 300 participants annually for each center.
In this regard, the General Director of Educational Modalities of the Ministry of Education, Cindy Uclés stated; “The Hub Edutech digital training center comes to benefit students and professionals by providing them with access to online training courses and programs, which will allow them to acquire digital skills relevant to today’s labor market.”
Likewise, he added that the SEDUC’s commitment to young people is to promote their digital training through the implementation of educational programs and projects that promote the use of information and communication technologies, also including the training of teachers in the use of digital tools, the incorporation of digital content in academic activities and the promotion of online education.
In addition, he emphasized that the vision of the Ministry of Education is to continue working with cooperators to achieve significant advances in digital training.
For his part, USAID Education Specialist, Edwin Moya, expressed: “We want children and youth to have the opportunity to complement digital training, there are 6 models available to improve access and academic performance in Spanish and math”.
Meanwhile, the municipal mayor of Comayagua, Carlos Miranda, pointed out; «This inauguration is one of the final goals that we have in this municipal youth center, with the objective of allowing us to advance more quickly in technological learning and connectivity with the world through
technology”.
The Ministry of Education and USAID work together and are developing digital platforms to collect and share educational information that allows strengthening management processes in the educational sector.
Over the next four years, an additional 14 Digital Training Centers are planned to be inaugurated nationwide.
Which will also be available to the community in general offering training in entrepreneurship.
