The emergency services halted traffic over the Erasmus Bridge for a while and diverted shipping traffic at the bridge. Around 11:30 a.m., a report came in about a confused person hanging from the outside of the bridge railing, screaming. More than an hour later, the police managed to talk to the man. Two policemen walked off the bridge with the man.
