Confused man shot by police died in Amsterdam | Inland

Officers saw the man walking around with a knife around 4:30 pm. He threatened to hurt himself. First, an attempt was made to overpower him by means of a police dog. That failed, after which the man walked up to the officers and began to swing the knife. As a result, the officers were forced to shoot, the police said. Immediately afterwards, an attempt was made to resuscitate the man, but to no avail. According to the police, it is a 23-year-old man of German nationality.

The incident took place on Honselersdijkstraat. The street in the Nieuw-West district has been closed off for research.
