The 23-year-old QV was arrested by guards from the Un-Mall on the night of Tuesday 23 to Wednesday 24 March. This after he had destroyed one of the windows of a unit with a stone, the Suriname Police Corps reports.
According to the Surinamese police, the owner of the mall has repeatedly reported against strangers for vandalism that was carried out on the glassware of his units.
Guards at said mall arrested suspect QV after they heard a bang. They investigated and saw that one of the windows of a unit had been smashed with a stone.
On that occasion, the guards saw a suspicious man running away and followed him. The suspect, who displayed a confused impression and abnormal behavior, was immediately arrested after which he was handed over to the police of the Centrum bureau.
The investigation will reveal if QV is the potential suspect who has more often committed vandalism at the Mall.
The suspect who has no permanent residence and / or place of residence was detained after consultation with the Suriname Public Prosecution Service reports the police.
