Confluencia is already celebrating one year since the inauguration of the viewpoint of its historic bridge and the Tourism Office of the Municipality of Chillán is finalizing details to receive the public this weekend, when a traditional festival organized together with the neighborhood unit will receive hundreds of visitors.
The community plaza, located next to the National Monument, will once again receive diferentes stands representative of the wealth of Confluencia, which will highlight its gastronomic and craft offer. A artistic grill with numerous folkloric groups and good music complete an attractive offer in the heart of our Ñuble.
Mayor Camilo Benavente highlighted the celebration, stating: “We invite our community of Chillán, the people of Ñuble and why not tell the people of our country, to an activity in Confluencia this July 29 and 30. In the context of the anniversary of the Mirador, a fair is held with typical products and we invite the entire community to participate in the gastronomic and cultural world”.
For her part, the Director of Tourism, Rosy Molina San Martín, specified that “we have been programming the activity for many months with the president and the delegate as well, joining forces between both parties to be able to generate a nice job, an activity where we can deliver gastronomy, where we can deliver crafts, there are also wines from the sector, there will be games for children and also the tour with tour guides telling the story of the Confluencia Bridge.”
The new president of the municipality’s Tourism Commission, councilor Quenne Aitken, highlighted the joint work and the progress: “We are very happy with this activity, which is the second version of something that started last year, as the director said, with a lot of effort and today we have a much more built party… the mayor has also wanted to give a lot of emphasis to rural areas and that is why Confluencia has become a tourist and gastronomic hub today too… we have the anniversary of the Mirador of our bridge, one of the longest wooden ones in Latin America and therefore the importance that the community as a whole can participate”.
Finally, the owner of the house, Guillermo Gatica, president of the Confluencia neighborhood unit, was not far behind with the invitation: “We are going to have a kettle casserole, we are going to have everything you can imagine for children, for adults, and the best thing there is, dear gentlemen, is going to be the love, the love of the countryside that we have and we are going to demonstrate that.”
Since last week the Directorate of Tourism has socialized the activity through the RR.SS. and the inscriptions so that the visitors to the fair can arrive in the arranged approach buses are still open to those interested in the Tourist Information Center located next to the Municipal Theater.
