Name of the Indonesian pilot Anton Gobay arrested in the Philippines for illegal possession of a firearm. The gun will be brought to support the organization’s activities in Papua.
“AG admits that it will take him to Papua to support the activities of the Papuan organization,” National Police Inspector General Intermediate Division Chief Krishna Murti said in his statement on Wednesday (11/1/2023).
Anton Gobay purchased dozens of firearms from someone using an alias in the Danao City, Cebu Province, Philippines area. The weapon consists of a long barrel and a short barrel.
National Police Public Relations Division Chief Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo said Anton Gobay was carrying 10 long-barreled M4 rifles with no ammunition. The combat rifle is said to cost 50 thousand pesos or Rp. 14 million.
However, it is uncertain whether the 50,000 pesos will cost a shot or 10 M4 rifles carried by Anton Gobay.
“In the form of 10 long-barreled guns of the M4 type (5.56 mm), worth 50,000 pesos, without ammunition,” Dedi said.
In addition, there are two Ingram 9mm short barrel rifles with no ammunition. The price of the short-barreled pistol is said to be as high as 45,000 pesos.
“(There are) 2 short-barreled (9mm) Ingram rifles, worth 45,000 pesos, without ammunition,” he said.
