Remake or not remake, this is the question. The most talked-about games in the Pokémon world are back on everyone’s lips because of some unofficial claims from known web leakers. It would seem that 2021 is the right year for the remake of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl on Nintendo Switch, but how much is it true?
WARNING! The information that we will report in this article is purely speculative and none of it has ever been confirmed by Nintendo or The Pokémon Company.
UPDATE 10:40 pm: Pokémon Leaks Center provided new evidence on the registered subdomain of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.
To fill an already buzzing day for fans of the Pokémon world after the surprise announcement of New Pokémon Snap for Nintendo Switch, the well-known leakers of Pokémon Center to drop the bomb. According to some of them “Certain sources”, not well identified, the remake of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl will come this year and will be a classic main line game of Game Freak titles.
According to the rumor the announcement should arrive in the course of the month of February 2021, presumably during a Pokémon Direct. The leakers had proven reliable over time, especially lately with the Pokémon Sword and Shield DLC. But initially no evidence was provided in support of these claims, e trust would not have been enough to confirm the words of Centro Pokémon Leaks. After about half an hour, however, they shared a new tweet contain a possible proof of their thesis.
This Twitter post states the existence of the domain for a hypothetical Pokémon Diamond and Pearl site. In this address written as diamondpearl.pokemon.com the first and second level domain correspond to the Pokémon official site and the page gives error 403, which is an error related to access permissions. The page therefore exists, but it is hidden.
If he domain did not exist, we would not see an error related to permissions but rather a message informing us that it is the page cannot be displayed. That said, the rumors about the release of these titles have been around for months now, and choose February as month of announcement is quite obvious considering that Pokémon’s anniversary falls right around that time. Anyone could have said the same things, even if this latest evidence bodes well.

Rumors, as such, must be taken with the right precautions and analyzed for what they are, that is speculations. Of course all this excitement for a remake of fourth generation titles invites us to hope it’s really the right year, but to be sure we should wait for official information.
