Martin Ødegaard is Arsenal’s new captain. The club confirms this on Saturday.

The Drammensener has already become well-acquainted with the role of captain in Arsenal. He has acted as captain in recent months, but now it has been confirmed that Ødegaard is Arsenal captain full-time.
The 23-year-old is also captain of the national team. In March 2021, he took over the captain’s armband from Stefan Johansen.

Following on from legends
Already in April, Mikel Arteta hinted that the 23-year-old could end up getting the role on a permanent basis. In fact, he had replaced the captain’s armband in Lacazette’s absence.
– Time will tell. He is developing in the right direction. The most important thing is the respect and admiration he gets from his teammates. He represents everything we want in this club. He is a good option, Arteta told TV 2.
Now Ødegaard will follow in the footsteps of legends such as Thierry Henry, Tony Adams and Patrick Vieira in the role of Arsenal captain.
