Helsingborgs IF strengthens in the defensive line. The club confirmed on Friday afternoon that BP defender Ali Suljic, 23, will join next season. Mittbacken joined BP from Häcken in 2019 and was named Ettan’s best defender in 2020. The contract extends over 2024.
– It feels great. I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about the club and the fans so I’m very happy to be here. A friend who played here has told that HIF is a big club and a very nice association with good opportunities. I have been very much looking forward to being here and am very happy, he says to the club’s website.
– I would say that I am a modern midfielder, ball safe, dueling strong and like to defend. My main goal is to protect the goal and keep the zero then others can decide what they think I am good at. I have heard that the supporters are great so I look forward to meeting everyone when I come here.

– Ali has done well for a long time and we are of course very happy that we have the best midfielder in division 1. He has good feet and a good perception of the game but is also a strong duel player with the right character. We have followed him for a long time and see a nice development, in addition he is still only 23 years old and will continue to develop. We are really looking forward to having him in HIF 2022.
