Speculations have been confirmed, AirPods Pro 2nd generation will offer USB-C
Other parameters remained the same, only the connector on the box changed
Pre-orders are already open, they will go on sale on September 22 for CZK 6,790
Apple practically buried the Lightning connector with today’s keynote. Not only this year’s iPhones finally got a USB-C connector, the 2nd generation of AirPods Pro headphones, or rather their box, came next. It can be expected that other products will follow in the coming months or next year (for example AirPods Pro Max headphones). But nothing else has changed, so the version with USB-C has the same hardware parameters and sound characteristics.
AirPods Pro 2nd generation with USB-C connector
The funny thing is that Apple boasted at the keynote that it is possible to charge the AirPods Pro box directly from the iPhone 15. But if you thought that wirelessly, unfortunately it is not. Reverse wireless charging is apparently saved for the next generation, here the headphones can be charged in a slightly outdated way, namely via a USB-C cable.
So far only by cable. Apparently, the giant from Cupertino is not too keen on reverse wireless charging
If you’ve been grinding your teeth on the 2nd generation AirPods Pro with USB-C, I’ve got good news for you. Apple has opened pre-orders for them now, they should be delivered to you next Friday, September 22nd. The price remained the same as for the variant with Lighning, i.e. 6,790 CZK.
