Ilias Papatheodorou was born in Athens on June 20, 1975. In his coaching career, he has managed to be associated with many successes, both at the national and collective level. He started his career from the Athenian academies (1995-2002), while a few years later (2006) he took over as the first coach of Kifissia, at the helm of which he remained until 2016, leading the Northern Suburbs club to consecutive promotions, from local ESKA championships, as well as the…Basket League salons. In the 2022-23 season, the Greek coach led Colossos Rhodes to seventh place in the Basket League.
It is worth noting that Ilias Papatheodorou has linked his name to some of the most…golden pages of the infrastructure departments of Greek basketball. He worked for five years in the U18, U19 and U20 national teams (2013-2018) and managed to win two gold medals, one in the Eurobasket U18 (2015) and one in the Eurobasket U20 (2017). In 2021 he worked as an assistant coach for the men’s national team, alongside Rick Pitino, while in the 2021-22 season he took on the role of federal coach for the Swiss national team.
We welcome Ilias Papatheodorou to the Prometheus family and wish him much success with our team.”
