The study includes 11 samples that were taken at various locations on the territory of Antwerp, Beveren and Zwijndrecht, in agricultural areas, nature reserves, industrial areas and recreational areas. In industrial areas, recreation areas and in the center of Zwijndrecht, the measured values do not exceed the soil remediation standard, in agricultural and nature areas they do. The cabinet of Flemish Minister of the Environment Zuhal Demir (N-VA) emphasizes that the standards used are very strict. This concerns the design assessment values for PFOS that OVAM published on 1 April 2021.
