The police carry the government’s message: facing the Covid-19 and the rules on containment, the time for prevention is over. Police officers and gendarmes stepped up checks on Saturday, November 14, in order to verify the wearing of masks and exit certificates.
The gendarmes of the Nantes company and of the Loire-Atlantique departmental road safety squadron carried out checks on the agglomeration for a good part of the afternoon. In the presence of the prefect Didier Martin and General Roland Zamora, commander of the Pays de la Loire region, around thirty soldiers were mobilized for the operation. “While on the whole people were able to justify their displacement, still too large a number were fined”, estimates the gendarmerie, which recalls that any person circulating without derogatory certificate is exposed to a fine of 135 €. This type of operation is bound to be repeated.
