The loyalists in the team
Logic dictates that those who will be rewarded are the territories that have embraced his project from the beginning, such as the territorial one of Venice, governed by Vincenzo Marinese, who would be guaranteed the position of deputy with responsibility for the organization. Among the early supporters there are Maurizio Marchesini, also from Emilia Romagna, and Gianfelice Rocca. A position will be secured at Lazio, where the name of number one Angelo Camilli is mentioned. But by dialogue with both Gozzi and Garrone, Orsini is also trying to heal the fractures of the electoral campaign, involving regions and central categories in the Confindustria system that had supported his opponents and overcoming the mutual vetoes of their sides. Yesterday, immediately after the nomination, he also had a long meeting with Emma Marcegaglia, Garrone’s great voter.
Lombardy and Piedmont
Lombardy and Piedmont appear in the list, which were with the president of Erg, from which a name of importance in manufacturing could come: from Milan the name of Veronica Squinzidaughter of past president Giorgio, from Turin that of the president Giorgio Marsiaj, founder of Sabelt, a man of metalworking. Then there is Gozzi’s orbit, between Bergamo, Brescia, Naples, Farmindustria and Federacciai. The hypothesis that the delegation to Europe will go to remains on track Giuseppe Pasinipresident of Feralpi, and the Campania pharmaceutical entrepreneur Lucia Aleotti could join the team.

Orsini said that the “chapters” of the program come before the names: Europe, with the promise of a Confindustria capable of directing the laws, rather than submitting to them; energy; industrial relations, given the new season of contract renewals; the research office, which needs to be relaunched. But the promised discontinuity also comes from the renewal of the machine, starting from the box general manager which is occupied by Raffaele Langella. In a very early stage he should be reconfirmed, but once the measures for the presidency have been taken it is possible that Orsini will decide to replace him.

Autonomy from the government
Another knot? The relationship with politics. Confindustria is “governmental” by essence, but in a relationship of autonomy. After being described as the preferred candidate by the Meloni government, which gave the input to state subsidiaries to vote for him, and branded by his opponents as weak, Orsini will have to show this autonomy. He received Salvini’s good wishes (“I have known him for years and I respect him”), with the ministers Giorgetti and Tajani there is a feeling, Urso expressed words of appreciation. It is not easy, however, to attribute belonging to it. Orsini is good at developing transversal relationships, including with Prime Minister Meloni and Undersecretary Fazzolari, thanks to the good offices of his friend Marinese. Words of esteem also come from the Modena area, where there is no shortage of almost obligatory relationships with the Democratic Party. Among his friendships he boasts the one with the Action senator Matteo Richettiso much so that he was among the founders of Harambée, his cultural think tank.
