An overview of confidential patient information from the Maxima Medical Center in Eindhoven has fallen into the wrong hands. The hospital reports this on its website. Patients were immediately personally informed and the Dutch Data Protection Authority and the Healthcare and Youth Inspectorate were informed.
The Maxima Medical Center was informed of the data breach by an anonymous reporter. An overview with patient information from a small group of patients had come into the hands of that reporter. It is not clear who is behind this anonymous report and how the document ended up in the hands of the reporter, the hospital says on the site.
The Maxima Medical Center says protecting the privacy of its patients is its top priority and is investigating.
