The House of Representatives will soon be discussing an own-initiative bill that obliges organizations to have a confidential adviser. That is not yet the case; by no means every employee has access to an internal or external confidential advisor.
Should the confidential advisor indeed become mandatory, small companies hope that they can jointly appoint someone for the entire industry. Otherwise it is difficult for them to organize and also expensive.
“It is important that employees can turn to someone and it is good if a mandatory confidential adviser is arranged with this bill,” says a spokesperson for employers’ organizations VNO-NCW and MKB Nederland.
